Community Conversations on Global Issues

The HIC annually sponsors two Community Conversations on Global Issues. Partnering with national organizations such as FOREIGN POLICY ASSOCIATION and PBS/ITVS as well as local groups, FOOTCANDLE and the HICKORY PUBLIC LIBRARY the Council hosts programs that focus on global topics relevant to the local community.

We hope you enjoyed the International Film “Son of Saul” on May 12, 2016 at the Carolina Theater and the International short film night on July 21 at the Drendel Auditorium.

2017 – Great Decisions Discussion Series

GREAT DECISIONS is a national, civic-educational program that encourages participants to learn about U.S. foreign policy and global issues. HIC will host 8 sessions of the 2017 Great Decisions Discussions beginning on September 5, 2017 and continuing through October 24, 2017 at the Keiser Community Room in the SALT Block in Hickory.
