Community Conversations on Global Issues

The HIC annually sponsors two Community Conversations on Global Issues. Partnering with national organizations such as FOREIGN POLICY ASSOCIATION and PBS/ITVS as well as local groups, FOOTCANDLE and the HICKORY PUBLIC LIBRARY the Council hosts programs that focus on global topics relevant to the local community.

  We hope you enjoyed the International Film “Toni Erdmann” on March 8 & 9, 2017 and “The Salesman” on May 10 at the Carolina Theater.

 

HIC & FOOTCANDLE co-host 3-4 international film series annually with post screen discussions.

An additional Foreign Film is scheduled for 4Q 2017. Stay tuned for details.

  2017 – Great Decisions Discussion Series

 
GREAT DECISIONS is a national, civic-educational program that encourages participants to learn about U.S. foreign policy and global issues. HIC hosted 8 sessions of the 2017 Great Decisions Discussions between September 5, 2017 and October 24, 2017 at the KEISER Community Room on the SALT Block in Hickory.
